Roman concrete

Two thousand years of quiet engineering makes patience feel like a material property.

field note
Ancient stone architecture covered in inscriptions and plants.

Ancient materials are compelling because they collapse the distance between idea and endurance. You can touch a decision made centuries ago.

Roman concrete is also a useful correction to the myth that newer automatically means more advanced.

I want to explore old structures without turning them into simple lessons. Their survival is evidence, but it is also a mystery.
