Why old paths persist
Habit, infrastructure and memory keep routes alive long after their original reason has disappeared.
Old paths fascinate me because they make invisible decisions visible. A road, workflow or ritual can outlive the problem that first created it.
Sometimes that persistence is wisdom. Sometimes it is friction that everyone has learned to stop noticing.
I want to get better at asking which paths still carry meaning—and which ones simply carry momentum.
